passifloras ? of what type? please tell me all of them
Hi to all,
My name is Rafael and I live in the sunny State...Florida.. I have a few passiflora plants, some days ago I saw this one and got impress by the color of the flowers so I got it, then I when to a couple of nurseries and they told me that this one will never give me any fruits, that it was only to make the garden nicer, then on the Spanish version of this same webpage I find out about manually placing the pollen in place in order to get the fruit to grow, and so I told my self that if I will be loosing the flowers any way why not do that with this flowers, and so I did, I have two other types of passiflora now that are going in the process of producing fruits and I can't see not much difference in what's going on inside the flowers
(THIS IS THE ONE I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS)

Well, the first few pics are definitely P. 'Lady Margaret. No edible fruit will come from this cross of P. coccinea and incarnata.
The next I am not certain of the "flavicarpa" reference that the last poster put, but it is indeed Passiflora edulis. I think it is likely a hybrid, which will have unknown amounts of var. flavicarpa vs. forma edulis. In any case, it should be edible and yummy!
The last could be P. alata, but I cannot be sure without a flower. It is obviously not P. phoenicea, but otherwise I cannot stipuate...

Hello Eric,
First I want to thank you for your replay, even when I now know that my Lady Margaret will not give me any fruit, that's a shame because I just spend 25.00 for no reason, because what I was trying to get where plant that will produce fruits, then the Edulis, had so many flowers open big and nice and many after the 4th day I find out that there was no fruit in them even dough I did place the pollen manually on each of them as I did with the first's ones that have a fruit now.. what could possibly went wrong? I watter then 2 times a day every day and they got excellent soil, they have plenty of space since I got the an 18 gallon pot, they lock so healthy with plenty of branches and flowers, I don't know what to think, oh! now that I recall the last few flowers even little ones are coming in a yellowish tone, and as for the last one the P. Alata it is starting to bring the flowers out so when I get them I will post pictures. Thanks in advance for your advice, it is very much appreciated.

Hello falconeys31,
I would say:
1 Anastasia
2 Edulis violet
3 After flowering in the words of Eric
I am not a specialist.
Good evening to you

Hello Falconeyes,
I'll apologize for my English, because I use the Google translator.
I started in Passiflora, but I try to stay in the rustic for my region Bordeaux (France) but with time I let myself be seduced by other less hardy. If you are looking for the passion-fruit edible to my knowledge there are edulis, and the laurifolia Quadrangelis but I think Eric or others could learn you better.

Hello Eaglefour,
Well fist I have to let you know that I appreciate even more your replay since you have to do all that in order to replay, but I most say that English it is not my first language either, I'm originally from Cuba so Spanish is first and Russian it's my second, so that makes English the 3rd so please don't feel bad and my goal it's to have French as my 4th, but well this place it's to talk about Passiflora but I just wanted to let you and the others know a little about me.
Thanks.
