Self-compatible P.caerulea
Dear all,
I am looking for a self-compatible form of P.caerulea to be used in breeding work. If anyone has or has heard of such a clone, kindly contact me at your convenience.
Best regards,

Re: Self-compatible P.caerulea
Hi Igor,
I have one that sets fruits regularly, but there is 2 P. incarnata (a purple and a white) nearby. I cannot assure you it is selfing as I never grew the seeds. Both species are invasive and I do not need any more of them.
Good growin',
Christian

Re: Self-compatible P.caerulea
Dear Christopher,
Thanks for you message.
Indeed, it is not possible to know for sure unless you either grow out the seeds or make a few controlled pollinations. Can you do the latter? I could try the former if you kinldy shared a few seed with me.
Also, which P.caerulea is this? Where from? Can you post a photo of its flower & fruit? This is very interesting to me.
Take care,

Re: Self-compatible P.caerulea
Last Winter was very cold and this Spring the plant had to come back from the underground stock. It did not bloom, so no fruit. Hopefully next year...

Re: Self-compatible P.caerulea
Dear Christian,
So have you been able to test your P.caerulea for self-fertility? Is there any possibility to get some selfed seeds?
Regards,
Igor
